About
Why I Created This Collection
I’ve always loved cooking, but I found myself constantly juggling between bookmarked websites, screenshots on my phone, and handwritten notes stuck to the refrigerator. Recipes I discovered and enjoyed would often get lost in the chaos of daily life.
This site is my solution - a personal digital recipe box where I can store, organize, and easily access all my favorite recipes in one place.
What You’ll Find Here
This collection features recipes I’ve gathered from various sources across the internet, social media, and traditional cookbooks. Each recipe has been:
- Transcribed into a consistent, easy-to-follow format
- Organized with clear ingredient lists and step-by-step instructions
- Tested in my own kitchen (most of them, anyway!)
You’ll find everything from quick weeknight dinners to weekend projects, comfort food classics to international dishes I’ve fallen in love with.
How The Site Works
Each recipe is formatted in a clean, minimalist style that’s easy to read whether you’re on a computer, tablet, or phone. No more squinting at tiny text or scrolling through endless ads and life stories to find the actual cooking instructions.
I’ve organized recipes into logical categories, making it easy to browse when you’re looking for inspiration or quickly find that specific dish you’re craving.
The Technical Side
For those curious about how this site was built:
- It’s powered by Hugo, a lightning-fast static site generator
- All recipes are stored as simple markdown files
- The site is containerized with Docker for easy maintenance
- Python scripts help automate the conversion and formatting process
This approach means the site loads quickly, works offline once loaded, and has no tracking or ads.
A Perpetual Work in Progress
This collection continues to grow as I discover new recipes worth keeping. It’s essentially my digital cooking journal - a record of dishes I’ve enjoyed and want to make again.
While this is primarily a personal project, I’m happy to share it with friends and family who appreciate good food as much as I do.
All recipes are collected for personal use and reference. When known, original sources are credited.
